Daily Bible Reading

To prevent the frustration of falling behind, which most of us tend to do when following a Bible reading plan, each month of this plan gives you only twenty-five readings. Today we start a few “free days” . We encourage you to catch up on any readings you may have missed this month.

If you have finished the month’s readings, you can use these final days of the month to study the passages that challenged or intrigued you.

The Bible reading plan we are following can be found here: https://www.navigators.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/navigators-bible-reading-plan.pdf

Daily Devotion

He’s Still Working On Me

But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Isaiah 64:8

We are the work of His hand. If we are flexible, yielding, and easily molded, He can use us. But if we are stiff, rigid, and unyielding we are good for nothing but the scrap heap. If we are fragile and brittle, we will crumble when tested. The good news is God can even work with scraps and fragments. He can put us back together and make something even better from the ruins of our life.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 NLT

When we only think about our feelings, it is difficult for the Word of God to work on us effectively. Don’t get discouraged or feel like you are not good enough. Don’t let the enemy convince you that you have failed too many times. Speak the Word of God not your feelings. Remind yourself. God is working on me right now – He is changing me! Don’t dwell on negative thoughts about our problems, failures, and mistakes.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 NIV

We all make mistakes. God only expects us to do our best. God allows us to be flawed so we realize how much we need Him. He wants us to depend on Him. God’s power and grace are displayed the most when we are at our weakest. It is by His strength, not our own, that we will make it. According to Zechariah 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

God is working on us for a purpose. He has plans for us. He is preparing us to work for Him here on Earth and ultimately to be with Him for eternity. By reading His Word, listening to anointed teaching and preaching, communicating with God through prayer and obeying His Word we can look forward to eternal life with Him.

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13 NLT

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT
