Daily Bible Reading

To prevent the frustration of falling behind, which most of us tend to do when following a Bible reading plan, each month of this plan gives you only twenty-five readings. Today we start a few “free days” . We encourage you to catch up on any readings you may have missed this month.

If you have finished the month’s readings, you can use these final days of the month to study the passages that challenged or intrigued you.

Daily Devotion

Living today, preparing for tomorrow!

Matthew 16:2-3 “He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”

Jesus said, “You can tell the weather by the color of the clouds.”
There is an old saying, “Red sky in morning, sailor take warning, red sky at night, sailors delight!” Pretty amazing that is based on the scripture above.

They say you can force a chicken to look at a line, and if forced to, they (the chicken) will become hypnotized, fixating on the line.

So easily we can look at the surroundings and allow our spiritual being to be influenced by what we see in the physical. We see an example of this in 2 Kings 6:15 & 17.  The prophet asked God to open the servant’s eyes so he wouldn’t just see how they were surrounded by the enemy. Opened eyes saw the enemy surrounded by the host of Heaven’s army!

We should regularly pray, “God help us to see what you see!”
We need to look beyond our “yesterdays”, to even look beyond the “todays”. We need to see through HIS eyes the promises for our tomorrows. We must take our eyes off the distractions and focus on Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame….”

We need to daily remember, we are bought with a price! (The blood of Jesus!)

1 Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
