Daily Bible Reading
To prevent the frustration of falling behind, which most of us tend to do when following a Bible reading plan, each month of this plan gives you only twenty-five readings. Today we start a few “free days” . We encourage you to catch up on any readings you may have missed this month.
If you have finished the month’s readings, you can use these final days of the month to study the passages that challenged or intrigued you.

Do You Have Your Shoes On?
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” Ephesians 6:13-17
Let’s look at Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; with definitions from Strong’s Concordance:
“And bind your feet with the readiness of mind of the glad tidings of salvation through Christ which gives you the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is, gives us security, safety.”
We demonstrate our trust in God by having a constant positive attitude, that regardless of what is happening He loves us and is able to change things for the better. As it says in Matthew 19:26, all things are possible with God. We also know from the many scriptures throughout the Bible, God loves us and is always working for our good. We can choose to believe these truths and use them as the foundation of peace in every situation.
Jesus left us a legacy of His peace, a peace that passes all understanding.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
We honor God when we remain peaceful in the midst of a raging storm of threatening circumstances. It shows others we can trust Him to take care of us. Peace is one of the most beautiful qualities you can possess. So be sure to wear your shoes of peace each day, trusting God and so be a witness to others.
People in this world are looking for peace. They are full of anxiety, confusion, unrest, worry, agitated, nervous, easily offended, full of doubt and dismay. We know the answer. We need to be ready to share the gospel of peace with them at all times.
Have you decided to walk in peace today? No matter what happens – even in unexpected stressful situations? You can be prepared for anything as long as you continue at peace trusting in God to handle everything that comes your way. And by doing so, you can show others the way to peace. They will notice when you are able to remain at peace in all circumstances. Then you will have a chance to share the reason you can be at peace is your complete confidence in salvation through Christ and knowing He loves and cares for you.
