Daily Devotion

“The Castles I Have Built in the Air, The Foundations I Now Must Build”
 By: Pastor Seagraves

Many years ago, I read this motivational phrase written on someone’s bathroom mirror. I don’t recall how many years it was left untouched but I remember seeing it multiple times over numerous visits.

It sounds amazing as a self-motivational goal but is that what we are really doing while on our Christian walk?

There are three distinct areas that we must constantly guard in our Christian walk:
1.    Blessings
2.    Calling
3.    Kingdom

I guess it is in our human nature to slowly, over time, lose our true focus in these areas. Without a daily prayer life and study of God’s Word, we can easily begin to ‘adjust’ our focus or,  justify our thinking, till we become jaded in our heart as we;
1.    See Blessings as our personal Possessions
2.    Our Calling becomes an Entitlement
3.    We change from being Kingdom minded to constant comparisons and ‘MY’ Castle thinking

God help me to always be reminded that it is your MERCY that keeps me. Your KINDNESS provides for me. Your perfect WILL I must walk within and I must go back to the Cross when I make wrong decisions..

1 Corinthians 3:4-11
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:16-21
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your’s;

My prayer is that you keep sight of the One who blesses. Your ear stays tuned to His calling upon your heart. Your life is focused on building His Kingdom.
