Psalm 18:30-36
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Tried and True

Mankind is amazing. If you stop and think about how our everyday life was just a few short decades ago, the world has rapidly changed. (Yes, age does have something to do with perspective.) Computers were bulky boxed things, cars were made with metal, and your phone line had one ring option and was not private. (By the year 2000 there were only 5000 party lines in service.) People could travel by railroad and ships were mainly used for material commerce, not floating cities. Newspapers were the main thread of information, tv was in black and white (colored showed up in 1954) and truth was honored and desired.
The culture of today, well you live in it. Times they are a changing. BUT, a wise man wrote…”As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried….” Since God cannot and will not lie, His word should hold the same concept to us. When God says we are forgiven, let no man convince you (yourself included) that you are not!! When God tells you His promises are yeah and amen, don’t let the enemy speak opposite into your life!!
This world was spoken into existence by the Omnipotent, Almighty, wonder working spirit of OUR God. Jesus will fight for you, and fight with you. Because of you, he shed His blood, in spite of you, He loves you. No pit is too far, too deep, or too dark that His hand of salvation cannot reach you. His word says so, and He does not lie. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. He gives us strength when we are weak, power over our addictions, habits, our character flaws and He gives us chance, after chance, after chance to get it right. His love is unconditional, always available and greater then we can imagine. Jesus will guide our steps if we let Him. His voice will speak to us if we listen, enable us to do what we are asked of Him.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His word is truth, His path has a purpose and direction. No greater man has changed the course of history like Him. No one ever will. And one day soon, He is coming back to get us. How do we know? He told us. And His word cannot and will not lie.
