Day 350 – Scriptures of Peace

December 17, 2022

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Rest

By: Sarah Seagraves

The word “rest” came to me as the year 2020 began. I did a deep dive studying the importance of rest. I read books, studied the scriptures, and took notes. Little did I know when that year began what was coming just 3 months later. We were all “put in park” in one way or the other.

I enjoyed the book “Rhythms of Rest” by Shelly Miller. She mentions that rested people make for peaceful homes. There is nothing I want more than to have peace felt in my home. That means I have to MAKE TIME to spend with the Master. My peace is found in Him!

There is an old song written by Wayne & Elizabeth Goodine entitled “I Find My Peace In You, Lord”. You can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF54lQZlIPk

Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15 NLT)

If you feel yourself overwhelmed and anxious, take time for rest. Cease from the busyness and get into the presence of the Master. When we take time to learn about Him, time to talk with Him, time to ask Him for wisdom and direction, we will find peace and strength. That peace will then be a gift you can share with others.
