Day 343 – Scriptures of Peace

December 10, 2022

Isaiah 32:16-18

16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

This chapter by prophet Isaiah is easier to grasp when read from the NLT translation; which I recommend.

It begins declaring the arrival of a “righteous king” and “honest princes” that will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm. Those with eyes will be able to SEE THE TRUTH and those with ears will hear it.

In that day ungodly fools will not be heroes and scoundrels, they will not be respected.

Well, that day can come NOW! This tumultuous time as 2022 comes to a close could sure use some righteousness! (Let that be found and spread by those who do know their God and do exploits…the Church.)

The Prophet then describes more foolishness and contrasts folly with goodness as we then see verse 15 jump from the page: … “until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven.” Verses 16-18 tell us Justice and Righteousness will RULE and will bring Peace, Quietness and Confidence FOREVER…and “My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest.” (How blessed we are to have His Spirit and His amazing Grace even Now!)

Oh dear Father in Heaven, by the name of Jesus Christ, give us eyes that we may see TRUTH and ears to hear this promise!

Even so, Lord JESUS, our righteous King, come quickly.
